It’s about the critical examination of power and privilege. It’s about empowerment. It’s about intersectionality. It’s about you.

The UW Diversity Minor is designed to develop students’ understanding of the complexities of socially constructed identities—race, class, gender, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexuality, religion, and age—and the ways in which they intersect with each other.

In the Diversity Minor Program, students:

• Get to know themselves more deeply
• Learn about others in multidimensional contexts
• Build community across cultural boundaries
• Acquire empowerment strategies to contribute to positive social change
